Demera Ethiopian Restaurant is one of my favorite spots in the city, and I might be a bit biased because I used to live in the neighborhood. This was my go-to place, and I still come back from time to time to enjoy some of the best Ethiopian food I've had in my travels around the world. Their tibs are a personal favorite and a must-try. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming. If you're in the area and looking for top-notch Ethiopian cuisine, I highly recommend Demera. You won't be disappointed.

This Ethiopian restaurant has a modern, spacious feel. Ethiopian music added to the ambiance which was nice and unique. We tried the sambussa sampler which consisted of five pastries that resembled samosas. Each one was fresh, crispy, and delicious. The flavors were chicken, beef, spinach, cheese, and lentil. It's nice when something fried isn't greasy. For the entrée, we split the doro tibs (chicken). It came with a side of spinach, salad, and what resembled pancakes. The chicken had a nice savory flavor, the salad was fresh, and the spinach was creamy and tasty. The wraps had an interesting acidic flavor that might need to be acquired, but it wasn't overpowering. The waitress was friendly and attentive. It's a nice way to try a different cuisine, and from this experience, you can't go wrong.

Expensive (well not super cheap) but very good food. Nice outdoor seating, and relatively quick service.

We chose Demera to celebrate a birthday out of town. Ethiopian cuisine is one of our favorites and this uptown establishment was delightful. We made a 630pm reservation with ease and our driver had no issues navigating to the restaurant through the busy city streets. We opted to sit outside on the patio, which was spacious and clean. The atmosphere was welcoming, service top tier, and fellow diners had good energy. The menu is quite thorough offering many options. It truly was great, most importantly, their berbere sauce was probably perfectly spiced for me, offering a well welcomed heat!
